June became the strongest month of the year

June became the strongest month of the year

In June, the nights never truly darken. The fells turn a shade of green that tends to be forgotten over winter, and the days stretch so long they seem to lose their edges. This is one reason why summer is its own world in Lapland, in the market too. June became our strongest month of the year, overtaking May, which was itself strong. A large part of this is explained by new-build sales: more completed and under-construction properties changed hands than usual during the same month.

The market isn't accelerating, it's deepening

Summer in Lapland is a world of its own, and that includes the market. June became our strongest month of the year, surpassing even May, which was itself strong. A significant part of this is explained by new-build sales: completed properties and those still under construction changed hands more than usual during the month. Enquiries were calm at the start of summer, but the buyers who were active proved decisive and further along than those in spring.

The market, then, is not accelerating. It is deepening. The share of new-build properties also points to a longer-term trend: buyers are willing to commit to properties not yet finished in front of them. More detailed figures by segment, and what they mean in practice for buyers, are covered in our subscribers' monthly newsletter.
